Hey, have you ever heard of near-death experiences (NDEs)? You know, when someone dies or is close to dying and then comes back to life and shares what they experienced on the other side.
Well, I recently watched a really fascinating video on YouTube about a guy named Dave Bennett who had an NDE in 1983.
Dave was the chief engineer of a research vessel and one night, while trying to beat a storm, he and some crew members went out on a small rubber boat to retrieve a submarine they had been evaluating. But things quickly turned dangerous when they hit a breaker zone and were hit by a massive wave that flipped their boat over. Dave was thrown into the water and, despite being a commercial diver, found himself struggling to stay afloat. He eventually drowned.
But that's not the end of the story. Dave found himself in a place of absolute darkness, where he saw a small speck of light that gradually got bigger and brighter. He soon realized he was moving towards this light and, as he got closer, he felt a warm embrace of love emanating from it. The light was made up of millions of fragments of light, all moving in unison together.
As Dave got closer, he saw that three fragments of light had broken away and he recognized them as family members, though not any family he had lived with in this life. They communicated to him a thought of welcome home and Dave experienced an emotional homecoming like no other. He later came to refer to them as his "soul family."
Dave was then taken deeper into the light and began to relive his life. But not just from his perspective - he experienced it from the perspective of everyone he had ever interacted with. His soul family was there with him, experiencing it the same way. Dave was surprised to find that they didn't judge him for anything he had done in his life, but instead supported and loved him. They seemed excited to be going through this experience with him.
As Dave relived his life, he gained an acceptance of himself and a recognition of the personal truth that our heart recognizes. He also realized that we all have a purpose, and when he heard the word "purpose" he understood it and accepted it.
Dave was eventually told that he had to return to his body, and he found himself back in the ocean, watching his body being pulled to the surface. He made it back to shore with a dislocated shoulder and a thumb, and his perception of himself and his surroundings had changed. He now saw auras and had other intuitive knowings that he had previously been good at covering up.
Years later, Dave had a second experience where he relived his NDE, but he saw that in the 11 years since his first experience, he had changed a lot. He realized how much he had learned and grown, and he made a decision to live by what he had learned. He also started to share his experience with others and found that it freed him from his own prison.
Dave also saw in his life review that he was going to have cancer, but that he was going to survive it. With guidance from his soul family, he was able to pick a treatment path that helped him overcome the cancer.
I found Dave's story to be pretty amazing and it offers a glimpse into what might be waiting for us on the other side. It's also a reminder that we all have a purpose and that we should strive to live by our personal truth.
